Dear Tenants:
Please be advised that Hurricane Milton is expected to have a damaging impact on our state. We are concerned about your safety and well-being. As we prepare the community, we need your assistance in taking the following precautions:
1. All plants, furniture, bikes and other items outside must be removed and moved indoors. This is MANDATORY.
2. Keep all windows and doors closed throughout the storm. Do not crack a window or door during the storm. DO NOT tape your windows. If you open your front or back door during the storm and the door flies off the hinges, you will be responsible for the damage and costs incurred. DO NOT OPEN YOUR DOOR DURING THE STORM.
3. Remain calm and keep listening to local news for weather conditions, evacuation routes and nearest shelter locations.
4. Purchase in advance: bottled water, ice, and non-perishable items such as canned food, packaged food, paper, and personal products.
5. Do not leave pets unattended at the property. There are shelters and kennels that will board your pet in case of evacuation.
6. Obtain necessary prescriptions and medications, and keep them with you in the event of evacuation.
7. Keep flashlights and a battery-operated radio/TV handy with extra batteries.
8. In the event of a power failure, turn off all appliances and keep refrigerator door closed. (Typically, food will stay cool up to 24 hours)
9. Fill your vehicle’s gas tank before the storm arrives.
10. Avoid downed power lines and report them to FPL (1-800-468-8243) as soon as possible.
11. Listen to the local news for the most up-to-date information. In case of an evacuation order, follow all directions issued by local officials.
